Straight sided bowl with everted rim; baluster stem & splayed moulded foot.

Inscription

In mantling of scrolls & bell-flowers: "A Gift To the Church in Lynde Street Boston. Added in similar mantling mantling in 1739 by Samuel Edwards, coat of arms of Hugh Hall.

Markings

"I E" crowned, partly obliterated by mantling of arms.

Provenance

Made for The west Church, founded in 1737. Records of the church show that the coat of arms of the donor, Hugh Hall, was engraved by Samuel Edwards; 1892, given by the church to the MFA.
