DescriptionPyxis with lid. Edges somewhat damaged. Lid and knob decorated with lines and dots. Body has lines, band of zig-zags, lines, band of dots; rest of body painted dark. Two holes on each side of lid match holes in body.
Provenance1882: Edward Robinson Collection (according to his Catalogue of Greek, Etruscan and Roman Vases, no. 9: purchased in Athens, 1882; said to have been found near Sounion); gift of Edward Robinson to MFA, February 10, 1892
