Cope with orphrey and hood. orphrey; Italian compound weave based on Turkish designs. Reapeating pairs of curved stylized leaves with serrated edges from compartments containing a chintimari and a paired wavy parallel line (leopard spots and tiger stripes) motif. Red satin weave silk ground with yellow, green, white and black silk and metallic yarn patterning wefts. Hood and body of cope; European red silk damask. Hood; small scale stylized semi-natuaralistic leaves and stalks, symmetrically arranged, with blossoms, grape bunches and wheat sheaves. Body; large scale floral sprays with open semi-naturalistic blossoms and leaves. Orphrey slightly worn. No marse. Pieced lining. Metallic tape trim.
