Dark red woolen warp; the weft of the mainfield is olive green. The light yellow ground of the band and medallion is divided into diamonds by red, dark blue and light green bands; at the intersection of the bands are dark blue disks with yellow quatrefoils or crosses in them. In the diamonds are single birds or pairs of birds affronted or back to back. The band and the medallion are framed by a wavecrest pattern. The end of the band is curved and was evidently finished with a pendant form. Torn in several areas of both the medallion and the band. Probably part of a shawl or a covering (?); design shows Sassanian influence.
