Field: central cartouche bearing a lion in profile, holding an upraised scimitar, with the sun rising over his back (the Persian royal device). This is within an ogival compartment which extends into a complex arrangement of curving vines with leaves, blossom and birds, filling the field. Triple border with similar repeating floral designs. Entirely embroidered in metallic yarn in raised work on a purple velvet ground. Metallic yarns and ground badly worn; lined.
