DescriptionSquares of drawn-work on white linen joined by bobbin lace. Design: a variety of geometrical figures, and angular conventionalized floral patterns formed by small square holes (warp and weft threads drawn out in both directions, remaining threads bound together and over-cast), the ground filled with "loop stitch". See Stapley. Popular Weaving and Embroidery in Spain, page 53, fig. 18. "Anno 1757" worked four times in one square and once in another square. Worn and stained.
