The circular bowl has two ear-shaped handles composed of two interlacing branches with leaf terminals. The domed cover is surmounted by a finial in the form of twisted branches with leaves and berries. The oval stand has an undulating rim and a circular well to fit the foot of the bowl. The ground color is pink (rose) over which blue enamel has been applied to create a marbled effect. The shaped oval reserves are painted with fruits and flowers, and the branch finial is painted naturalistically in brown and green, with gilt berries. The reserves are framed by burnished and tooled gilt bands, which are outlined in carmine enamel. Throughout the marbled ground are streaks of carmine enamel and gilding, and small clusters of gilt dots. The rim of both the lid and the stand is decorated with gilt dentils applied over a band of blue enamel.

Bowl:incised DU. Stand: interlaced Ls enclosing date letter I; unknown painter's mark of a leafy branch, in blue enamel; incised dc and gc.
