Chinese for export. Elliptical. Curving fluted sides, molded gadroon edge & scroll design in rim. Strap handles close to body with trefoils at body. Band of beading at top of splayed foot on rectangular plinth. Cover convex & stepped with fluted flattened dome & modeled bud finial. Raised dentil border in gold on step of cover (repaired body & finial.) Green glaze with upright gold leafy lines & horizontal bands of rose scrolls & lines, tiny green leaves on white. Scalloped circular medallions front & back of body & cover enclose arms with crest of cardinal’s hat; at ends on body, foot & two surfaces of cover elliptical scalloped medallions with figures in landscapes. Not part of set.
