Coverlet of gray silk ground embroidered with floss and tightly-plied silk in yellow with touches of purple, brown, red; design in central field of pelican feeding two young center and S-handled vases in four corners; floral border with inner and outer guard bands; double-headed eagle in each corner of border; coverlet is composed of three widths sewn together, purple silk warp yarns near selvedges show along two vertical seams; yellow silk fringe and lining.
