DescriptionEight-sided cup with applied handle and applied molding at top and bottom. Some old repair work at corners at top of cup; the top applied molding is splitting away from the main body on one section, two panes over from handle; corners are split in two places at top rim. Two dents on corner of two panels of body near inscription.
Marks Stamped on bottom: "J. & W. L. Ward / Chestnut St."
InscriptionsOn one panel: "Uncle John / to / A.G.S." and on another panel: "Baby Richard / from / Grandma / April 9, 1924"
ProvenanceInitials in engraving represent John Gibbs Gilbert (Uncle John) to Annie Gavett Bartlett (A.G.B.), Richard B. Pierce (Baby Richard).
