Découpé (cut) double paper leaf fan which served as an aide-mémoire for a popular song about the of Duke of Marlborough (1650-1722). Obverse: printed and hand painted design of Marlborough on tomb inscribed “Cy git Malbrouk” amid flags, two soldiers left, page and wife right mourning, center; Marlborough taking leave of wife to go to war and page with helmet right; page with horse draped in mourning returning to wife left; painted flowers and dots surround scenes. Reverse: printed song “La Mort de Mr d’Malbrouk.” Fourteen ivory sticks painted in floral design, guard backed with red foil.
