DescriptionDalmatic. Unpatterned cut maroon velvet with apparels at the cuffs and the hem, front and back, plus narrow orphries placed around the neck opening and vertically to the hem apparels. Cuffs, a framed medallion, flanked by a pair of laterally oriented, stylized, symmetrical, stemmed flowers with curling leaves, bearing St. Clare on one sleeve and St. John the Apostle on the other. Hem apparels, large framed medallion, with four floral groups similar to those above placed symmetrically around it, bearing on the obverse Salome presented with the head of John the Baptist, and on the reverse the Adoration of the Magi. Orphries with fantastic beasts, masks, drapery and stylized curling leaves. Polychrome silk, silver and gilt-silver yarns.
