DescriptionPolychrome silk yarns on a tan cotton ground. Central square compartment with scene of a house and trees. Above the compartment is an eight pointed star. Repeating around the compartment is the characteristic cross-like motif with geometric and linear filling patterns. Many groups of initials and abbreviated names appear throughout. Lower left hand corner area of squares with lozenge motives worked entirely in silk with no cotton ground. Stains; slightly soiled. Stitches: cross, darning, eyelet, pattern darning.
