Spheroid jar with a short, narrow neck; fineware, decorated with three red and black crocodiles and a duck, scroll band of grapes below. The presence of grapes on the vessel may indicate that it was used primarily for the storage of wine.

Provenance

From Kerma, Meroitic cemetery, grave K18/2. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; December 4, 1913: awarded to the MFA by the government of the Sudan.
