This lid is fashioned of a reddish clay fabric. It is well shaped, possibly formed from a fragment broken from a pottery vessel rather than manufactured as a lid originally.
From Kerma. Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
