ProvenanceFound among the ruins of Manwoldae Palace, Songdo (present-day Kaesong, North Korea) by the land owner; sold by one of his descendants to a Korean official; 1885, sold in Seoul by the official to a US Navy officer [see note 1]; 1889, sold by the US officer to Edward Sylvester Morse (b. 1838 - d. 1925), Salem; 1892, sold by Morse to the MFA (Accession Date: March 1, 1892).
