This is a small lid shaped much like a shallow offering/model dish. It is made of a reddish clay fabric. There is a hold in the center, possibly for suspension or attachment. It is chipped.

Provenance

From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 1625. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
