DescriptionSmall, round drawstring bag made up of four triangular panels. Polychrome opaque and translucent glass beads strung with linen thread, held together by interlocking looping stitches (sablé). Commemorates Montgolfier's balloon ascent. Two scenes on white ground, each repeated twice: portrait of Jean Francois Pilâtre de Rozier; balloon ascension of 21 November 1783 in Paris. Silk netting and braided drawstrings with four beaded tassels. Pink silk taffeta lining. Good condition.
