White silk brocaded with polychrome silk (largely greens and salmons) in large-scale floral motifs with chinoiserie landscapes (English or Dutch fabric, 1738-40). Shawl style front and lowered square back neckline. Bodice fitted to natural waistline, pleated placket back. Elbow length semi-fitted sleeves with deep cuff pleated at front. Wide panier accomodating skirt with slits at hipline, fullness pleated at back and sides. White silk bodice and sleeve linings.
