Woman’s dress of silk brocaded in two shades of red against dark red satin background. (a) Fitted bodice, buttoned down center front with elbow length sleeves, short draped peplum in back, and narrow standing collar at back of neck; front of neck and sleeves trimmed with dark red velvet; in waistband woven label: “Worth, Paris.” (b) Skirt is straight in front with central pleated panel, full length with dark red velvet side drapery extending to large butterfly bow at back to go over bustle; a lot of fullness pleated and draped in back, extending to form train.
