DescriptionLinen ground embroidered with polychrome silks and gilt-silver yarns. Regular band of embroidery around neck opening with dense design of stylized flowers within repeating diamond shaped compartments; design of cypress trees and flowers to either side of geometric band outlining neck opening; lower part of yoke edged with red and white silk. Said by donor to have been worn beneath jacket that would have covered all but embroidered sections. 40.5 cm (16") braid and tassel for closing attached to left side of neck opening.
