White silk damask upper embroidered with gilt-silver yarns and wire in cross motif on vamp; gilt-silver galloon and white silk binding across throat. Square toe. Flat heel covered with damask, galloon along top, top piece. Leather sole. Galloon covered welt. White leather insole; white silk lining. Condition: soiled and badly worn.

Provenance

Said to have belonged to pope Innocent X (1644-55). Former Coll. Simonetti (Rome).
