DescriptionEcclesiastical Costume. Round neck opening; the bands are joined down three-quarters of their length by false buttons of cast, open-work gilt metal and merge into one piece at the bottom. A simple crucifix with spherical finials, half appearing on either side of the central opeingin, and detached olive branches (?) repeat down the front. The ground is entirely of fine gold-colored metallic yarn; the motives are brocaded in white and rust-colored silk. A double row of metallic yarn fringe near the bottom. Edged all around by a strip of similar metallic yarns, cotton and silk with a repeating geometric motif. Slightly worn in some areas. Pieced at the lower edge.
