Pink and black evening gown with striped moiré bodice, wide shoulder straps, and square neckline. Long straight black skirt with slit on right side. Black zipper closure on right side and one interior label: “ETE 1939/Schiaparelli/21. Place Vendome Paris.”

Pink and black striped moiré overskirt with large bustle as center back. Two hook and eyes at center back and zipper on right side.

1939, created by the Paris atelier of Elsa Schiaparelli for her Spring/Summer collection; purchased by unknown client; July 3, 2009, sold at Cornette St. Cyr auctions in Paris to the MFA (Accession date: December 16, 2009)
