French, about 1890. An eveing wrap, of black brocaded satin, broad bands of heavy horizontal ribbing, black and green changeable, with sprays of roses, forget-me-nots, daisies, and other blossoms, turning alternately left and right, brocaded with pastelpolychrome silks; back cut in simplified “princesse” line with innter ribbon belt holding back of waistline close to figure, front straight hanging with deep fold on each side, hooked down center front, some fullness gathered at shoulders, band of black and pink ostrich feather trimming around neck and down each side of front, lined throughout with quilted rose colored satin; woven label in back of neck: AU REGENT, Manteaux Costumes 7 Bould de la Madeleine, Paris Nouv Etrangers.
