These small ewers are inscribed “A” and “O” for aceto and olio: vinegar and oil.

DescriptionOne of a pair of small cruets. Each is made up of six pieces of transparent red amber. Fitted with an elaborate handle, an "A" (for Aceto = vinegar?) within the confines of the handle.
ProvenanceAccording to information provided by the donor, acquired from a church near Lake Maggiore, Italy.
