DescriptionThis faience amulet is of a wedjat eye and has a green color. The relief is in black. The wedjat eye represents Horus' left eye lost in battle and later restored magically by Hathor. The eye came to symbolize wholeness.
ProvenanceFrom Egypt, Giza, street 7700, east of mastaba G 7753. 1929 : excavated by the Harvard University–Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
