DescriptionLarge fan with chicken skin leaf (double), painted on one side with scene of "The Death of Sophonisba" (from Livy) showing figures in classical costume, on other side a landscape with castle in background. Thirteen carved and gilded faux tortoiseshell sticks with applied metal ornament, showing three medallions enclosing classical scenes, two end sticks and rivet ornamented additionally with many clear paste stones of varying sizes and shapes.
