Commemorative fan, probably for Jubilee of George III. Engraved and painted vellum leaf. Obverse: George III, Queen Charlotte and children(after Zoffany), gilt decoration at sides and borders with painted floral details, inscribed “No. 22” center bottom. Reverse: vignette of two women and two men in garden setting, gilt ans stylized floral sprays to sides, decorative gilt border. Narrow gilt band at top. Mother-of-pearl sticks, etched pastoral scene with two women and man center blades; gilt details; gilt foil backing on guards. Condition: reverse guard incorrectly repaired(reversed above shoulder) causing some damage to reverse leaf lower right corner; obverse guard split above shoulder.
