Appliquéd fan. Simple painted pastoral scene of man dancing and woman sitting under triple arches and tree center, child left, man with garland right, trees to sides, decorative floral borders top and bottom: appliquéd to machine-made mesh net (called “lace-net”) probably made in England, and stiffened with gum. Carved and pierced ivory sticks with painted details, guards painted red above shoulders and decorated with painted lace and floral motif.
