DescriptionSingle skin leaf. Obverse: "The Alchemist." Man with books, bags of gold coins, furnace center flanked by man with bellows at furnace left, two figures at an elaborate machine right, and representation of figure who may be King Midas with torch, sun with face upper right; stamped gilt floral border. Obverse: simple pastoral landscape, gilt border. Painted carved, and pierced ivory sticks in chinoiserie design, mother-of-pearl washer on rivet.
