DescriptionSingle skin leaf. Design: "Allegory of Death." Center burning mausoleum with skeleton and mourners, crossed swords, flags, bones, drum, etc. (symbols of war) on ground at front; king and boy with manacle and queen rear left; soldiers, mourners, cripples throughout; decorative gilt border. Wavy ivory sticks; rose painted guards with etched steel plaques and piqué work; closed sticks form head of serpent at base.
