DescriptionPainted double paper leaf (royal blue, green, orange predominate), appliquéd painted ivory faces and silk robes. Obverse: emperor, court scenes. Fourteen blades: carved and pierced sandalwood; plain, red and green painted ivory; etched mother-of-pearl; green and blue painted gilt silver filigree; figures and floral motifs. Guards: silver filigree royal sceptre and dragon mounted on glit-silver filigree in decorative motif, brass banding. Green and salmon tassels depend from brass ring. Black lacquer box, gilt decoration, painted blue silk and salmon paper lining.
