DescriptionObverse: four overlapping Chinese vignettes, woman reading, man spearing animal across stream, couples inside and outside house, traveller with bundle on stick over shoulder; gilt borders; flowers and leaves surround; narrow gilt band at top. Reverse: simple chinoiserie floral motif; vine across top and bottom. Etched tortoiseshell sticks with gilt-silver details, chinoiserie motifs with figures. Mother-of-pearl rings on rivet. Condition: gilt-silver on guards much worn.
