DescriptionPainted fan (broken), bundle of pieces of brocade. Obverse: center vignette of man leaning on staff and seated woman with staff, pastoral setting, stream and buildings right; surrounded by vertical spiraling floral bands. Reverse: simple budding branch center. Gilt paper binding. Carved and pierced ivory sticks, floral motif on guards. Condition: leaf soiled and splitting, guards reinforced with steel plates, leaf unglued from broken obverse guard.
