Fashion plate illustrating nineteenth century women’s fashion. Five women stand in a parlor; the silhouettes of dining men are apparent around a curtain. The women wear, from left to right, a cobalt blue dress and a headband of red and white flowers, a black dress and jacket with fur detailing, a teal dress with white buttons and tassles, a white dress with lace and bead deailing (nuances of red), and a gray and white checker-boarded dress with blue trim and a large bow fastened at the back. “Mme Demorest’s Mirror of Fashions. / 473 Broadway N.Y.”
