DescriptionThis small feeding cup is one of six found together. It was formed by pinching one side of a hemispherical cup to form a spout. It is fashioned of a somewhat coarse reddish clay fabric that has fired black in some areas. It has thin walls and a rounded base. The rim is chipped. There are apparent traces of black polish.
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan) el-Kurru, tomb 51 (tomb of a queen?). 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
