This limestone figurine depicts a bound male captive wearing a somewhat prominent wig. His legs are bent back at the knees and shown as though tied to his elbows, which are also pulled back behind him. The modeling of the figure is somewhat crude.

Provenance

From Tell Dafana (Daphnae), found in the desert east of the Kasr. 1886: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the EEF by the Egyptian government; presented to the MFA at EEF fifth annual general meeting; sent over June 1, 1887. (Accession date: June 1, 1887)
