Cylindrical, tapering body on wide molder foot. Small band of molding near base. Hollow scroll handle with molded drop on hinge. Lower part of thumbpiece scroll-shaped terminating into modified double-cusped ends. Dome-shaped cover with band of molding around edge. Marks: on right of handle, bottom inside cover.
MARKS: just below the rim, to the right of the handle, maker's mark FG with a pellet below in a shaped shield (sim to Grimwade 3570); lion passant; leopard's head crowned; date letter N (1728/9). All four repeated on inside of lid.**
SCRATCHES: engraved shallowly twice, on the underside of base and body, weight"57=13". **Repeated on the handle, maker's mark.
