DescriptionBroad arms carved with tasseled masks at back formed of broad leather strap. Bust in relief at sides, masks on outer tips, rosettes inside. Shaped and scroll legs, molded boss at crossing, flat stretcher feet scrolled at tips.
ProvenanceDr. Albert Figdor (b. 1843 - d. 1927), Vienna; September 29-30, 1930, posthumous Figdor sale, Cassirer, Berlin, lot 637, sold for M 7,500 to Eugene L. Garbáty (b. 1880 - d. 1966), Schloss Alt-Döbern, Niederlausitz (Germany), New York, and East Norwalk, CT [see note 1]; 1960, gift of Mrs. Eugene L. Garbáty to the MFA. (Accession Date: March 10, 1960)

[1] Garbáty emigrated from Berlin to New York between 1938 and 1939, bringing much of his art collection with him.
