DescriptionMandarin style fan with painted paper continuous pleated leaf with long painted sticks. On the obverse is a court scene with the emperor and many figures with appliquéd ivory colored faces on a blue and green ground. There is a meandering floral vine along the border. On the reverse are court scenes on either side of a pastoral vignette. Gold floral patterning on a blue ground surrounds each scene, which are enclosed in ovular shapes. Gilt paper binding and gold carved sticks with green and blue floral patterning.
