DescriptionDouble skin leaf. Obverse: heavily painted scene of Moorish wedding procession. Reverse: Coronet and monogram of Vicountess for whom fan was made, cupids surround, gilt floral border. Narrow gilt band edging. Thirteen carved ivory sticks with cupids, Venus and leaves in high relief with gilt details, diamonds paste studs in rivet. Original maroon leather case with white satin silk lining, inscribed "J. Duvelleroy, Paris. By Appointment London: 167, Regent Street, 167."
