The bowl rests on a low trumpet-shaped foot divided into eight lobes with vertically chased lines. The curved sides of the bowl are divided into nine lobed panels, each enclosing a chased line. The center is slightly domed.

Construction:
The bowl is raised and chased; the raised foot is applied.

Markings

On rim of bowl, leopard's head crowned; maker's mark RN a mullet between pellets above (Jackson, 1921, p. 125; rev. ed. 1989, p. 122); lion passant (repeated on underside of foot); date letter S
