DescriptionGround: coarse cream linen cloth; stained holes; cut away at top. At bottom is stripe woven with alternate brown and cream wefts. At right is brown linen selvedge (.008 wide). Design: two silk tapestry bands. Upper band (.045 wide); guilloche of red and yellow enclosing yellow and green ducks on red ground. Above and below is narrow debased Naskh inscription (.005 high) edged at top and bottom with narrow scroll border. Lower band (.04 high) line of stylized Kufic writing (.013 high) of cream and black on red ground. Edged above and below with narrow scroll border. Inscriptions: Naskh (very debased): "Victory from God". (repeated) / Kufic: undeciphered. See note.
