DescriptionThe Annunciation. Woven with metal and silk threads in shades of red, green, yellow, and beige. Virgin in right foreground receives news from angel at left. Pattern of floor tiles in foreground, baldachino behind Virgin, trees and clouds in background. Woven borders of orphrey appear at sides. Surface worn considerably, shows some repair. Lining and separate borders late additions.
