DescriptionThis is a gray granodiorite stele fragment with three complete and two partial horizontal lines of incised Meroitic script seperated by incised register lines. Style B. Line width is 3.2 - 3.4 cm.
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, B551, III(3) "W" of third "N" area in sand above floor. 1919: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
