DescriptionThis is a gray granodiorite stele fragment with three complete and two partial horizontal lines of incised Meroitic script seperated by incised register lines. Possible red pigment in script. Style B. Line width is 3.2 cm.
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, B551, III(3) "W" of third "N" area in sand above floor. 1919: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
