Fragment of robe (uchikake) with design of mandarin orange (tachibana) and tortoise shell pattern (kikkô-mon) in orange, green, pale yellow and black silk embroidery, gold-wrapped thread couching and stencil resist-dyeing on a white silk damask ground; worn by woman of the samurai class for formal occasions.
