Damask; warp: black, possibly man-made fiber of regenerated cellulose (rayon?); satin; weft: yellow silk, twill. Fanciful scenes of Venetian fêtes: a man and a woman in dominos and tricorn hats in a garden arcade; a woman, holding a mask, on a bridge; a Venetian palazzo on a canal. Designs woven in a yellow silk twill on a black, possibly rayon, ground. Condition: good; some stains.
