DescriptionLithographed and painted paper leaf. Obverse: large center vignette of Cortez capturing Montezuma II, in chains; two small floral medallions to sides, gilt and red scrollwork borders, painted floral motifs on bronze and deep blue background. Reverse: center chinoserie vignette, signed "Levilly"; painted and gilt floral motifs at borders and sides on deep blue background. Black painted pierced wood sticks; three painted and gilt floral medallions on obverse blades, three empty medallions on reverse blades, gilt and painted details; gold foil backing on guards. Brass ring.
